

Vera Mae Barrass, 86, of Mesa, AZ passed away April 9, 2013. Vera was born October 3, 1926 in Rock Springs, WY to Albert Lee and Winifred [Baker] Hardin, and was also a long time resident of Kearny, AZ. She was a loving wife and enjoyed taking care of her family. She took pleasure in preparing amazing meals for them and enjoyed caring for her home. She had a good sense of humor. Her prescription for life was to always have at least one good belly laugh a day. Vera helped establish the Episcopal Church in Kearny and was on the Alter Guild. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and Beta Sigma Phi. Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard A. Barrass on January 24, 2009 and her infant son, Ralph and is survived by her sons Gary (Jill) Barras of Gilbert, AZ and Keith (Jeannette) Barras of Los Alamos, NM; her sister Lois Wilde of Rock Springs, WY; grandchildren Kelly (Ryan) Williams of New York, NY; Casey (Ashley) Barras of Mesa, AZ; Amy Barras of Portland, OR; Laura (Ken) Corson of Albuquerque, NM; Adam (Wendy) Barras of Los Alamos, NM and by her great grandchildren Tobiah Barras and Harper Barras, both of Los Alamos, NM. A committal service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, April 15th at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix
