Verald was born at Academy, SD to Walter Atlee and Sylvia(Green) Schubert. He graduated from Platte High School in 1942. On Dec, 7, 1949, he married Nora Boyden. To this union there were two children, Judy and Jerald.
Verald farmed and raised livestock west of Platte, SD until 1983, when he sold his farm and moved to Fountain Hills, AZ. He later moved to Mesa, AZ where he met and married Sylvia Lieske. They enjoyed traveling and his favorite past-time, dancing. Verald, also had a home in Show Low, AZ where he loved to spend time.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia, Mesa, AZ, daughter, Judy(Pat) Schulte, and son, Jerald (LeAnn) Schubert all of Rapid City, SD. Four grandchildren, Nikki(Shawn)Wendt, Allen Schulte, Kimberly(Shawn)Wenko, and Jeremy(Elizabeth) Schubert. Six great- grandchildren, Sydney and Ramsey Wendt, Landon Schulte, Brooklyn Wenko, Jonah and Ezra Schubert; a sister, Florence Rasmussen of Northridge CA.
