Virginia M Campos

Virginia Miranda Campos died peacefully in Mesa, AZ on June 6th, 2018 at 95 years old.
Virginia was born on September 5th in Senora, Mexico in 1922. She met her husband Ramon Campos in 1940 at a community dance. They married in Tempe, AZ on October 1st, 1941 at the original Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Virginia is survived by her children, Jeanne Kryka, Mariana Humphrey, Irene Oliva, Cynthia Rice, Carol Campos, and Raymond Campos, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as 2 brothers Henry Miranda and Ramon Miranda.
Virginia had many talents she was known for. She was an artist, she could draw and paint almost anything. She was able to sew creative gorgeous fashionable clothes as well as crochet anything from doilies to blankets to the tiniest baby layette sets all without a pattern. Her creative vision and talent gave her friends, family and many others everlasting treasures.
Virginia attended a number of pilgrimages to Europe and Mexico with the Catholic Diocese of New Mexico. Virginia volunteered with the woman’s guild in Tempe at St. Margret and in Pinetop at St. Mary of the Angels.
Virginia volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Blue Ridge Elementary school for 6 years. She also worked as a Democratic representative at polling locations for 17 years from 1964 to 1985.
Virginia had a captivating presence. She had her dancing shoes from the day she was born until last year at her great nieces quinceañera. Virginia was a devout Catholic woman, she was selfless in her thoughts and prayers for others and was always there to give her wisdom that she had learned through her years in church. Virginia was nurturing to all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She will be forever missed, forever loved and will live on through all of us, as she touched everyone deep within their souls.
The viewing and rosary are scheduled for Thursdays, June 14th at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ 85202. The funeral is scheduled for Friday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3201 S. Evergreen Road, Tempe, AZ 85282. Followed by the burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008, with the receptions to follow back at Resurrection Catholic Church.
