

LaRue Feemster, 82, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on January 22, 2024. She was born in Knox City, Texas, on September 10, 1941, to Royce Clinton and Erma Feemster. The family moved to Morenci, Arizona, (a copper mining town) in 1944. LaRue graduated from Morenci High School in 1959. After high school, she moved to Lubbock, Texas and attended business school. It was in Lubbock that she met and married Charles Glynn Starr in 1964. They had one daughter, Melissa. LaRue worked at Ben E. Keith, Texas Tech University, and became the owner of Miller-Ohls Gift Shop. In 1986, she moved back to Arizona and worked for Southwest Airlines as a reservation agent until retirement. She was a member of Broadway Christian Church where she volunteered for many of the church’s ministries. She loved interior decorating, reading books (especially the Bible); and collecting ornamental angels, keys, and lemons. She also found great joy spending time with family and friends.
LaRue is survived by her daughter, Melissa Jones and husband Richard; two grandchildren, Haley Judd and husband Preston, and Dawson Jones; five great-grandchildren; Brothers, Clinton Feemster and wife Sue, Royce Feemster and wife Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, February 24, 2024, at Broadway Christian Church in Mesa, Arizona.
