Wesley Kris Hoekstra

Chandler AZ, lovingly known as Dad and Opa, succumbed to his battle with esophageal cancer

in the early hours of October 4th. He was surrounded by his family and dear friends.

Wes is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Alice (née O’Shaughnessy), son Kris, daughter

Kaite, brightest lights of his life, granddaughters Maya and Marley, and the best in-law’s Mike

and Ann O’Connor . Preceded in death by his mother Christine and father Wesley.

Wes spent years on the road as a truck driver and spent the later years of his career as close to

home as possible. He was a giant presence in the lives of the people that knew and loved him

including close friends Martin, Danny, Mark, Marcia, and Wade, just to name a few.

Wes was a fixer of all things, a lover of all food he could cook up on one of his grills, and a huge

jokester who loved surprising his granddaughters on their last day of school every year with

water balloons and water guns.

He was loved so greatly and so fiercely and will be missed by so many.

Rest easy, Opa. We’ll take care of your girls.
