William Alexander Cross, age 79, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was born in Endicott, New York on April 24, 1945. He graduated from Pavilion High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, New York and James Cook University in Queensland, Australia.
He passionately loved life and enjoyed meeting new people. William had many different careers including owning his own taxi company, being a flight attendant, building the Ross River Dam, working at Kodak, and being a 5th grade teacher. He also enjoyed writing and wrote books on his taxi driving.
He enlisted into the Marines when he was 18 years old (1963). William served for two years, because he had to return home due to family hardships. He later rejoined in 1981 and served an additional two years. He was incredibly proud to be a Marine.
He preceded in death by his son, David Cross.
He was survived by his children Mark Cross, and Matt (Jody) Cross; Grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Ryan, Bryce, and Logan; one great grandson; siblings David Cross, Stephen Cross, and Lee Cross.
