William (Bill) Howard Krotzer, 79, passed away June 26, 2013 in Tempe, Arizona. Bill was born September 15, 1933 in Gibsonburg, Ohio to Benjamin and Edith Krotzer. After finishing high school he went on to study two years at a technician school. After serving in the US Army, he worked in Civil Service as an Electronics Technician at Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he was well-known for being able to build and repair any type of electronic equipment with whatever parts he had at hand.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Cliff Krotzer and Don Krotzer; and sister Ruth Bettenbrock; and grandson Hobby Mason, Jr. Bill is survived by his wife June; daughters Karen (Charles) Bowman of Springhill, Florida and Brenda Krotzer of Rumney New Hampshire; stepsons Walter (Louise) Winger of Copperas Cove, Texas and James (Sandra) Winger of Vail, Arizona; grandchildren Veronica Murtagh of Chicago, Illinois and Reece (Meg) Murtagh of Richmond, Virginia; great-grandchild Rowan Murtagh; and sister Mary Ickes of Woodville, Ohio.
Bill and June were active square and round dancers in southern Arizona and in Mesa, and they enjoyed traveling to many dances and festivals. They also took pleasure from travel in their RV, including several summer trips to Alaska. Over the years Bill became a “desert rat” who was very fond of hiking and spending time in the foothills.
Committal Service will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:00 am at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635 with Rev. Patricia Dickson officiating.
