Winnifred (Winni) B. Ricci was taken up to be with the Lord in all His glory on 9-11-2018. Winnie was born on May 2, 1923 in Arvada, Co. Her father, George Toby, died when she was eleven years old. Her mother Hilda remarried three years later to Joseph Breen who adopted Winni. Winni became a nurse and moved to the Yerington- Hawthorne Nevada area where she married Dino Ricci on June 9th, 1946. Winni became a homemaker and in 1954 moved to So Lake Tahoe with her family. She took care of the kids and kept the books for Din’s businesses. The family moved back to Yerington, NV in 1964 where they owned and operated R.C. Ford Center. Winni ran the office and the home. Winni was a life time member of Soroptimist international, the Lyon County Museum, The Red Hat Society, and various other organizations. Winni played the organ at masses and funerals for over 30 years. She loved her golf, traveling, playing cards and games and her music. She especially loved her weekly “couples golf” at her SSV Community. Winni made a great and numerous friends wherever she went. She was deeply loved by everyone. Winni also loved her family, friends, and especially the Lord.
Survivors include her son Joe Ricci of Mesa, her daughter, Debra Mann of Whitewood, SD, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Winni was predeceased by her husband Dino, her two daughters, Diane Ricci and Darleen Menecini, and her sister Emma Breen. A mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington. Winni’s interment will be at Valley View Cemetery next to Dino and Diane.
