

Yessie graduated in the first graduating class of Red Mountain High School in Mesa AZ. Earning a degree in computing, Yessie went on to work at University OBGYN for the next 15 years. Yessie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing and dancing. Yessie had a heart to care for physically challenged children and worked with kids at her local church. She was a loving mother, a dedicated employee, and a continual support to those she loved. She enjoyed sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, Phoenix suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. Yessie lived life to the fullest, loved people unconditionally, and laughed contagiously. After two years in a coma Yessie fought back and relearned how to walk and talk, struggling against all odds to overcome a debilitating surgery. Yessie never gave up, struggled against every adversity, and cared for others more than herself. Her life was an inspiration for many, and a lesson for all. She will be greatly missed.
Yesenia is survived by her son, Joseph Tafoya; parents, Ernest and Adriana Tafoya; and sisters Roxanna Beach (David Beach) and Lydia Harris (Jason Harris). As well many other extended family members throughout Arizona and Texas.
Services will be held at Red Mountain Christian Center, 740 N Power Rd Mesa AZ 85205 on Monday, April 16th. Visitation and viewing begins at 5PM, the funeral services will begin at 6PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 400 South Power Rd
