Armando Alvarez Morales was born May 5, 1950 in New Braunfels, Texas and went home to meet the Lord on February 22, 2021 in Sunnyvale, Texas at the age of 70. Armando is preceded in death by his father Clemente Morales and his brother Bobby Morales. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 40 years Irene Morales, daughter Melissa Derting and husband Kevin, grandchildren Erica Jenson And husband Cory, Lauren Lang and husband Zach and Jennifer Brice and husband Matthew, great grandchildren Tyler Graham, Madison Lang and Hendrix Brice, son Armando Orlando Morales and wife Beatrice, grandchildren Kayla and Jacob Morales, daughter Alexis Sanchez and husband Manolo, grandchildren Alysia and Sophia Perez, Samantha and Roberto Sanchez, daughter Monica Morales, mother Juanita Morales, siblings Elva Esquivel, Rene Morales, Clemente Morales Jr., Diana Luna and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Armando enjoyed traveling out of town to spend time with his mom and be with his family and friends. He loved sleeping and watching his novelas. He would also spend time at the gym swimming and relaxing in the sauna. His family and friends will always remember him as loving, caring, and a jokester. He was a food critic for sure, always on the hunt for homemade tortillas. He could tell you all the best food places to eat locally and out of town from Mesquite to San Antonio. He also enjoyed BBQ the most, especially ribs. He loved to dance and have a good time and was always the life of the party. "Y Seguro Social!" was one of his favorite sayings. He was full of life and loved his late nights listening to Tejano music and drinking some "Tequilita." He retired from Veola Transportation in 2012 and lived life to the fullest, and then some......
Armando proudly served his Country in The United States Navy from 1968 to 1974 and served bravely in the Vietnam War as a gunner on the PBR Boats. He was recognized by The Commander and Chief of The United States Pacific Fleet for meritorious achievement while acting as a member of the Rescue and Assistance Team on board USS VERNON COUNTY (LST 1161) in the Mekong Delta of the Republic of Vietnam on February 25, 1969. He was also a delivery package driver for UPS for a total of 23 years and of that time he was honorably recognized with 18 years of safe driving. Armando was an amazing person and a joy to be around. He will live in our hearts forever and he will never be forgotten.
