Billy Ross Hodge "Bill or Bull" age 88 passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 from Parkinson's and Covid 19 virus. He was born in Navarro County on August 22, 1931 to parents Forrest Lee Hodge and Eva Sipes Hodge. Bill was the 13th of 14 children, 3 of which died in infancy.
He went to school in Mildred, TX in Navarro Co., then joined the Army at an early age following in the footsteps of his brothers. Bill worked in construction most of his adult life. He spent 5 years helping build runways and bridges at DFW airport. He worked for Austin Paving, Dahlstrom and JD Abrams, and retired from Young Bros. Construction of Waco, TX.
He loved NHRA drag racing and spent many weekends at whatever track the races were held. After he retired he and his best friend Paul Davis took Paul's Winnebago on road trips all over the country to be at the big races always glad to see their old friends.
Bill was a wonderful man and smart as an engineer and could build or fix anything. All of his family and friends have a Bill Hodge story, especially his nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be missed forever. Bill and Barbara met in Fort Worth, TX and got married in Dallas May 29, 1968.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, and daughter, Gwen Wages. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Russell Bridges, Sachse, TX, brother, David Hodge, Shelbyville, TX, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and mother of his daughters Jean Hodge.
