Canaan Christian Gilbert, age 26, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2020. Canaan was born February 9, 1994. He is survived by his Mother, Janet Martinez Perry; Father, Christopher William Gilbert; Significant Other, Elizabeth Hernandez; Children, Joshua and Brodie Gilbert; Sisters, Erica Nicole Perry, Taylor Danielle Gilbert, and Kaitlyn Grace Kyle; Brothers, Ronald Glenn Perry, Tyler Christopher Gilbert, Ethan J. Gilbert, and Gideon M. Gilbert; Paternal Grandfather, James Robert Gilbert; Paternal Grandmother, Deborah K. Gilbert-Stadigh; Paternal Great Grandparents, Morris and Margaret Martin; Maternal Grandmother, Mary Martinez; Uncles, John McGinnis, Andrew Martinez, and Bobby Martinez; Aunts, Vickie Monnette, Patricia Martinez, and Denise Castillo; and many Nieces and Nephews.

A visitation for Canaan will be held Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 12, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149. A committal service will occur Friday, June 12, 2020 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. A burial will occur Friday, June 12, 2020 at 1:23 PM at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243-1917.
