Charles Dwain Lyon

LYON, Charles Dwain age 73, passed away June 30, 2023 at his home near Payne Springs, Henderson County, Texas. He was born in Dallas, Texas on August 13, 1949 to Charles William Lyon and Ellen Faye Raney Lyon. He grew up in a sparsely populated wooded area near a crossroads called Zipp City. This is now part of Balch Springs, Texas. He graduated in 1967 from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas, and then attended El Centro College in downtown Dallas, majoring in art. In the early 1970s he worked as an artist at Plastic Mfg. Co. in Oak Cliff before transferring to the finishing department. By the 1980s he became a printing press operator, and later a delivery truck driver for several different produce companies. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Ellen. He is survived by one brother Derrel Lyon and wife Vickie of Mesquite, nephew Jeremy Lyon of Mesquite, niece Carrie Lyon Wattenbarger of Carrollton, and numerous cousins. His humorous stories and tall tales will be surely missed.
