Cristina Melendez, 84, of Fairview, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Victoria Gardens of Allen. She was born in Lima, Peru to the late Jose Melendez and Maria Acuña. Cristina was raised in Peru and dedicated her life to serving God. She attended and graduated Bible College and pursued her ministries in the Assembly of God Church. She moved to Texas in 1970 and shortly thereafter moved to New York in 1971. She also spent time in Virginia and eventually moved back to Texas to live with her niece Maria. Cristina loved to worship the Lord and she enjoyed teaching vacation Bible school to young children. She also loved to sing, play the piano, and the accordion. She will be remembered as a kind gentle soul with a heart of gold who would help anyone in need. Cristina is survived by nephews and nieces Luisa E. Shaw, Rev. Jose Elorreaga, Nestor Elorreaga, and Maria Luna.
