It's hard for me to do this. I have avoided being here because I didn't want to feel how real it is your gone. I don't want to cry anymore or feel sad. But little brother I'm going to celebrate who you truly were to all of us a man with an amazing heart. You loved with every ounce of strength in you your family and friends and gave so much of yourself to us. You got up everyday and tackled the world with faith, hope, and love. May all the blessings our God has promised be with you through eternity. Till I see you again little brother.

All my love,

Marsha Valencia

Although our thoughts are consumed with grief
We pray for comfort from the one who knows our pain
Dear Lord, lift us up today because we grieve for David
Keep him close to our hearts and let us feel your love
Watch over our family and our friends who pray for us
Let David know that we will miss him and love him
And that we know he finally has peace in his heart
We are comforted in knowing he is with you Lord
He is with his family in Heaven. Amen.

To know my little brother Dave
Meant you knew a man of great strength
He bounced back from so many things
Things that would have left most broken and discouraged
He loved with his whole heart
His family meant everything to him
Unconditional love was engraved in his soul
He knew what it was to be forgiven
And readily forgave without reservation
He loved his wife, kids and grandson
More than they knew
He gave himself to the Lord
Acknowledging that the Lord carried him
Through many paths, most of his life
Dave loved to joke around and play pranks
He really knew how to make you laugh
His smile was infectious and laugh heartwarming
Our hearts are broken, and sadness is overwhelming
He left on the wings of Angels
Greeted by the Lord and his Mom
And finally, he gets to meet and have many conversations with his Dad

I'll miss you the rest of my life!

I’ll Be Seeing You

I’ll be seeing you
In all the familiar places
When I look at your children’s faces
In a field of bluebonnets in Spring
When a storm brings clouds to the sky
On the streets of the city of Mesquite
In the rooms of your childhood home
And in all your favorite things

I’ll be feeling you at my side
When I fall asleep watching TV
If I stop for a blizzard at the DQ
If a song on the radio reminds me of you
When I’m looking at your life in pictures
In the pranks that we play on each other
You’ll be right there at each family event
Because with us is where we expect you to be

I’ll be feeling you in my heart
When I hear a familiar laugh
If something brings a lump to my throat
When a tear suddenly fills my eyes
If the phone rings before four a.m.
When I hug one of your kids
In the way someone might smile
It will be you I’ll think about

I’ll try so hard to keep your memory alive
Listen intently when someone tells a story about you
Look at a picture when I want to see your face
Thank the Lord for all the time we spent together
And I’ll pray he takes good care of you
I’ll ask the Lord to let you feel the love of family
And ask Him for comfort when we’re missing you
I’ll be seeing you my little brother. . . Love you Davy John

David John was a little "RugRat" the ladt time I saw him when he lived in Maryland. Through the years there were messages on Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. Although our family lives in Texas we remain in touch and love each other. David had ups and downs but family was very important to him and he was important to family. He will be missed and I know I will see him in Heaven and get to spend time with him. Love to you David and to the rest of my Texas family

Little brother, you were much bigger than this life. From the day you were born, our lives were so touched by your own. We learned many lessons in life, shared great times and tragedies. So often throughout the years, my question was “Why?”, because I could not see or understand what was expected of me. By being a part of your journey on earth, I came to understand some of what the Lord expects of us. I’ll always remember your strength, strong will and bravery to tackle any obstacle put in your path. Shortly after you were born, our Daddy went to Heaven. If I didn’t have you in my life, to distract me from such a tragedy when I was so young, I don’t know where I’d be today. Hope I told you enough that I love you and I am happy for every moment we shared together. I thank God for you Davy John! I’ll hold you tight in my heart and miss you the rest of my life. Give Mom that message I asked you to give her and visit me if you can. I love you Dave!

Like my sister Sharon, my memories of Davy John were when he was very young (living in Virginia Beach, Lonaconing, & Cumberland). My heart breaks for all of his family & friends! Even though my Texas family is so far away, please know you have my heart! Sending love, hugs, & prayers from Maryland!

I have known David since we were kids. In High School he would give me advice about boys. He really was a good friend to me and he will never know how those words at that time in my life really stuck with me. So much so, I never dated a boy from school while I was in High School after the first part of my Freshman year. Don't get me wrong...I dated but NOT a boy in HS and it was because of mine and David's chats. :-) I am very saddened this has happened! God Bless you old friend. Till we meet again.
