Denise Catherine Thomas was born on May 7, 1956 in Denton, Texas and passed away on July 4, 2020 in Garland, Texas at the age of 64 from diabetes. Neely, Margaret and Patience were in the room with her when she took her last breath. She was not in pain and went very peacefully surrounded by family.
Denise worked at Charlie’s as a bartender for over 30 years where she made numerous friends that lasted a lifetime. She loved hockey and never missed a Dallas Stars game for anyone! She loved “I love Lucy”, Elvis, Judge Judy, flowers and gardening ,laughing with friends and family.
She requested that there was no funeral service as she did not want people crying around her and so the family asks that you add a joke she told you, a picture, a great memory, a happy story in honor of her memory.
She is survived by her loving significant other, Thomas Epperson of 31 years.
She is survived by her children Neely Duncan and her husband Lee Duncan, Brandon Thomas and his wife Patience Thomas and Aaron Zsiga. She is survived by her grandchildren Justin Duncan, Blake Thomas, Erin Michelle Zsiga, Natalie Duncan and Kenndy Brooke Zsiga and by her loving Uncle Lloyd Mitchell and his wife Charlotte Mitchell, and their children Jon and Jason.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warriors as she loved this country!! As we are now saying based on July 4th, she went out with a bang and a firecracker!!
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her but she will live in our hearts forever and she will never be forgotten.
Please feel free to share a memory or to leave a condolence for the family
