She was a waitress for many years at Hyatt Regency. But her true calling was in ministry.
Dora Jean loved teaching the word of God at Meadowview Baptist Church and Alpha & Tabernacle of Praise Church.
Dora Jean Burks was called Home on May 14, 2014. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Neil & Lois Farmer; her husband, William G. Burks; her sisters, Ann Gates & Ruth Farmer, Gale Swinford; and her brother, Neil Farmer, Jr.
Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her nieces, Beverly Ann Macias, Linda Achenbach and Robin Rumbo; and many more nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, her church family, and other relatives and friends. She will also be dearly missed by her Beloved Friend “Pepper”
