When I was little my favorite thing to when visiting great Nana was listening to her memories and stories she had about growing up and how different the world was back then. She would tell us about the Great Depression and the dust bowl and stuff we learned about in history books at school and that was just absolutely crazy to me.  She was an amazing woman and lived an incredible life. 

We used to go over and all sit together in nana's room and listen to her story’s for hours. she had the best memories and always seemed to have more, we loved spending time with her and we could tell she loved it too. 

Whenever l came to visit, great nana had a big smile on her face and her love was so big lt was like it came all at once for her that she had to squeeze you. For me she never squeeze  my face she would always squeeze my arm l will miss those moments when she did that. She taught me a lot about life but love was the best lesson l learned from her. 
I remember one time when l was just a kid and l visited my Grammy, grampy and great nana. Great nana was up and was making her delicious pizza pie l believe that’s what it’s was called. It was delicious, it was so good that l think everyone was quite cause they were trying to finish there plate. Once everyone was done we talked about how good it was. I wanted to learn from her how to cook that pizza pie.
I will miss you great nana when l see you again we will eat that pizza pie. Love you!!

Nana I didn’t know you very long but the time that I did was amazing. You always had great stories and you were very loving. You will be missed but I know we will meet again.

Nana you will be greatly missed by all of us I personally will never forget the great story of how you and Grandaddy met! I’m gonna miss the big hugs you gave out when we came to see you. Save us all a place up there and we will see you again.

So many memories I don’t know where to begin. As a small child it was Nana picking me up from nursery school, coloring with her, getting peanuts at the gas station, eating at Captain D’s, visiting Great Granny in the nursing home, waking up on the divan to birds singing at the lake, and Nana ALWAYS had gum and ALWAYS a piece for me too. I cherish all those memories and so many more.
As I grew older though, I cherished the stories, the smiles, the laughs. Her stories made me laugh or even amazed me and I loved how they tickled her too as she was telling them. My favorite was about when her and Grandaddy lived in a hotel (it was hard to find a place to live after all the men came home from war) and the hotel did not allow Christmas trees. They got one anyway and hoisted it up the fire escape and through the window…only to be caught by the manager. They ended up getting to keep it though because it was so beautiful. I could picture the whole scene every time she told that story. And she would laugh and laugh. 
Thanks for teaching me so much and for giving me a piece of your character. Best Nana ever!!! I love you and will miss you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

With Mama living with us her last 16 years, there are so many memories. One of the best was when June and I took Mama to eat Chinese food. 
Our waitress had some food in her teeth as she took our drink orders.
The moment she walked away, Mama started laughing so hard that all 3 of us laughed for about 10 minutes and every time the waitress came back to check on us we started laughing all over again but trying not to.  Even walking out we were still laughing.  That was so much fun that day! We had a blast!

I will be married to her son fifty (50) years this coming March, 2022.   
When we first married, I was not much of a cook.  Edna (Mom) is/was an excellent cook.  I was always calling her for help and for her recipes, especially her French dishes.  She was always ready to lend a hand.

Over the last few years, we began to exchange letters back and forth.  As it began to get too hard for her to write, I would write to her, as if I were talking to her on the phone.  She loved to get my letters.  She would read them over and over.

I will miss her very much.  Love.
  

I always loved coming to visit nana! I sent her pictures on Christmas, and the next time I saw her she had them displayed in her room. She was always so happy to see me.. I was always so excited to see her as well.  She gave the best hugs. I’m so glad I was able to bring her pictures one last time before she passed. I love and will miss nana. 

I have fond memories of visits with Nana. She was the best storyteller!  Rest In Peace sweet Nana.  We love you!

As her grandson growing up, I always enjoyed my visits with grandmother.   I really loved spending time with her during Christmas. I also enjoyed going to her lake house on Lake Tawakoni, having quality time with her, eating good food, and of course fishing off her dock. Those memories will always be with me. 

When I was a little guy, mommy (Edna) would come into my bedroom to wake me for school. She would often sit on the edge of the bed, time permitting and gently rub my shoulders and hair as she woke me.
I remember how quiet the house was as dad was already off to work and my sisters were still in bed.
Most mornings she would tell me that she loved me and I was going to have a god day at school.

Edna is my Mom. I was the youngest of her children.  I have memories of being a small child and holding onto her clothing. An example that comes to mind is laundry day. 
Mom would carry a basket of wet clothes to the clothes lines to hang to dry. As she moved up and down the lines hanging the wet laundry, I moved with her, clinging to her clothes.  I don't know if I thought she was protecting me or if I thought I was protecting her. But it was love ❤
