Emory Shannon Baker was born on September 7, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Dalton Wayne Baker & Tobitha Wanda Clifton. He was the youngest of four children raised in the Pleasant Grove area. Like a typical young boy with older brothers, Shannon looked up to them and chased after them all the time. He liked to play sports and loved his Grannie. He attended H. Grady Spruce High School then went into the workforce.
Shannon enjoyed tinkering with objects and fixing things. His happiest times were spent in Deer, Arkansas on his parent’s place, camping, fishing and hunting. He loved being out in the country surrounded by nature. Shannon was a stubborn man, but very loyal to those closest to him. He would do anything for you. As a grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren when he could. He was caring, sociable, and liked to talk to people. He was known for his laughter and was his own person for sure.
On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, Shannon Baker was called home to meet his maker. He was preceded death by his beloved grandmother, Ella Baker; his father “Papa Shing” Dalton Baker; and his brother Larry Baker.
His life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by his mother Tobitha “Beth” Baker; his daughter Sandy Brown of Red Oak; his grandchildren: Trey & Kyla Brown; his long-term companion Patty McDaniel; his sister, Wanda Pavageau & her husband Mark of Garland; his brother Daniel Baker of Dallas; and many more relatives and close friends.
The Baker Family would like to acknowledge Melissa of the hospice staff for taking such good care of our Shannon.
