Felipe Ortiz passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23rd, surrounded by his loving family. He was 34 years old and lived a life defined by extraordinary kindness, profound generosity, and an unwavering zest for adventure.
Born on December 1st, 1990, to Felipe and Belinda Ortiz, Felipe was raised in Dallas and Forney, graduating from Forney High School.
Felipe was a true free spirit whose infectious laughter and genuine warmth illuminated every room. He embodied generosity, often described by those who knew him best as the person who would truly "give the shirt off his back." He consistently prioritized the needs and happiness of others, a selfless quality he maintained even in his final days. He believed in living fully, pouring his heart into his passions, and cultivating deep, lasting friendships.
Professional Dedication
Felipe found a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment in his work at Forney Independent School District (ISD). He loved his team, the teachers, students, and office staff, treating everyone he encountered with unwavering respect and kindness. It was during his cherished time at Forney ISD that he met the love of his life, Alejandra. Even as his health declined, he remained hopeful and optimistic about returning to his colleagues, a testament to the community and joy he found there.
Passions and Joys
Outside of his professional life, Felipe was an ardent lover of connection and celebration. Music was central to his soul, leading him to attend countless concerts throughout his life. He found joy in travel and shared a deep, lifelong bond with the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, and Rangers, cheering them on with enthusiasm and loyalty. The family truly believes he was with them as they celebrated the Dallas Cowboys' victory against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, especially given the great performance by his favorite player, CeeDee Lamb.
He loved playing baseball throughout his youth, a passion that embodied his team spirit and drive. Felipe was popular throughout his life, maintaining a large, active circle of friends who were always drawn to his positivity and humor.
Family and Legacy
Felipe’s greatest loyalty was reserved for his family and his dogs. He was a profoundly devoted son to his mother, Belinda Ortiz, and his father, Felipe Ortiz, and a beloved brother to his sister, Denise Ortiz. He cherished his relationships with his many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He loved all his dogs dearly, but his beloved English Bulldog, Major, held a special place in his heart- Major passed away three days after Felipe, keeping him company on his journey home.
Though his life was cut short, Felipe lived without reservation. He would want those he left behind to honor his memory by choosing love, carrying on his legacy of laughter, and continuing to live their lives fully.
