Gloria Jane Slocum

Gloria “Jane” Slocum, age 68, passed away on December 23, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on March 16, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Clarence and Linnie “Katherine” Hogan. Jane was raised in Mesquite and Wills Point, Texas and Graduated from Wills Point High School in 1975. She married Gary Robert Slocum in 1980. She was a devoted and loving housewife and mother.

Jane worked for many years as an industrial seamstress prior to having her children. Later in life she returned to work in the field of childcare where she met many dear friends and became a beloved part of many Dallas area families lives. In her younger days, she loved to go dancing, especially country western dancing. She kept that love alive through listening to music as she became older. Jane faced many health challenges throughout her later years, but she never let it define her or stop her from being there for those she loved. Above all she was a loving and supportive wife and mother whose presence can never be filled. She will be deeply missed by all of those she loved.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Linnie “Katherine” Hogan; Brother David Hogan; Half-Brother and Half-Sisters, Clarence Hogan Jr, Shirley Hogan Walsh, Faye Hogan Peters, and Gwendolyn Hogan; as well as her brother in laws Gene Milk, Gary Miller and Stephen Pollard; and sister in law Diana Green.

Jane is survived by her husband Gary Slocum; Daughter Amber Slocum; Son Justin Slocum; Sister Kay Hogan Tadlock; Sister In Laws, Malinda Bostick, Debbie Milk, and Julianna Gonzalez; Nieces, Angela Carver, Betty Carver-Martin, Sandra Kimber, Misty Hogan, and Cherrie Menard; Nephews, James Carver, Stephen Pollard Jr, David Hogan Jr, Christopher Milk, Jesse Milk, and Charlie Milk; Mother in Law Sandy Lane; Father In Law Robert Milk and wife Dena Milk, as well as a host of beloved extended family and friends.
