

Herbert Dale Glidewell of Dallas, Texas, went to receive his Heavenly reward on December 10, 2025. He was the son of Rev. W.G. Glidewell and Dorothy French of Carrollton, Texas, born on September 30, 1943. At the age of 19, he married the love of his life, Georgie Lee Bird, on February 9, 1963. Herbert was a man of few words, but when he did speak, he spoke words of wisdom into all of his kids and grandkids. He instilled work ethic into everyone who knew him. He worked tirelessly to make sure there was always a roof over his family’s head, shoes on their feet, and food on the table. He never met a stranger, whether he was at the grocery store or the bingo hall he would always take the time to talk to somebody in passing. He loved Christmas time because it gave him the opportunity to reach out to not just his family but all the neighborhood kids and make sure everyone had a magical Christmas. He attended The Springs in Seagoville and loved listening to old gospel songs as well as country music. Anyone who knew him would tell you he had a heart the size of Texas. He was welcomed into his heavenly home by his wife, Georgie Glidewell, his parents W.G. and Dorothy Glidewell, Sister-in-law Ann Hullett, Son Charles, Granddaughter Amanda Rincker, Brother Richard Glidewell, Sister Sarah Cummings, and Johnny Glidewell, Brother Donald Ray Glidewell. He leaves behind to cherish his memories children, Wendy and James Rincker of Waldron, Arkansas, Timothy Glidewell of Plano, Tx, Michelle and Mike Jones of Plano, Tx, Jason and Leann Glidewell of Quinlan, Tx, and Taylor and Kenneth Oliver of Holdenville, Oklahoma, brother Charles Glidewell, David Glidewell, and Sister Linda Woodall. He took pride in being the grandfather (Papa) to 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Along with numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, church family and friends that will always remember his life here on earth. The immediate family will be receiving friends and extended family at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at 4pm-8pm. A celebration of life service will be held at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez on December 18, 2025 at 10am with Pastor Milton Spears, Jr. officiating. His pallbearers will be led by Nick, Justin, Michael, Cody, JD, Colton and Jesse. Honorary pallbearers are Gracie, Bekki, Kaylee, Maquel, Misty, Aleeha, Rhiannon, Kevin, Landon, Cord, Coye, Charlie, and Ashton. Music by Jimmy Rincker.
