Jack Franklin Allison Jr.

He was born to Jack Franklin Allison and Ruby Marie Akers Allison.

Jack (Jackie to his sisters and family) was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Dallas Independent Schools of David G. Burnet Elementary, Edward H. Cary Junior High and Thomas Jefferson High School. He was active in the Thomas Jefferson ROTC. He also attended North Texas State University.

Jack had worked at the Elm Fork Gun Range while he was in high school and met several police officers.

He became one of the Men in Blue, and worked for the Dallas Police Department until his retirement.

He then worked for Computers Worth and Baker Technologies.

Jack was fortunate to have 3 sisters, Patricia Marie Allison (who passed away when she was 1 1/2), and twin sisters, Jo Allison Archer and Janice Allison Baker. Their children and grandson loved Uncle Jack!

Jack married Beverly Ann Rowell on April 19, 1975. They had one son, Alexander Franklin Allison, who was born on February 11, 1984 and passed away the same day. Jack and Beverly divorced on September 9, 1985.

Jack married Reba Evelyn Kammer Crowder on April 28, 1990. Reba (Evelyn to family) passed away August 19, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. They were married 34 years. She had 3 children that Jack considered his own, Scott Crowder, Shannon Crowder Murphy and Kelli Crowder Smythe. There are also several grandchildren and great grandchildren who love their grandpa.

Jack will always be remembered for his quick wit and humor. He was a pest to his sisters growing up but we loved him and we knew he loved us. He was a God-fearing man who knew the Bible and liked to practice his preaching style when he was to say grace at holiday meals. Yes, we always had cold food to eat but it was still a joyous occasion.

He was known for his practical jokes on all his friends and relatives. There is no doubt his not so subtle humor will be missed.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jack Allison Jr. on September 21, 2024 at Tree of Life Lutheran Church, 6318 Lyons Road in Garland at 3 p.m. Please bring some of your favorite stories about my charismatic brother.
