Jacquelyn Wilcox, age 85, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Friday June 19, 2020. Jacquelyn was born January 13, 1935.

My mother Jacquelyn Wilcox was the greatest human being I've ever known. My mother was beautiful, inspirational, honest, hard working and led by example. My mother was given the name, "Momma Jackie" by a neighbor's son and family friend Mark Holmes, because of her nurturing, sweet and tender ways. For as long as I can remember my mother would take us to church. Between going to church and my mother's teachings, I can honestly say we always knew right from wrong. My mother always had a positive and consistent vibe about her. My mother, Jacquelyn Wilcox, is the rock of the Wilcox family. She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 63 years Robert "Bobby" and their sons, Kurt and his wife Audrey, their children, Darren, Kayla and Brian; Derrick and his wife Evelyn, their children Tamika, Ashley and Ryan. Daughter Susan and her daughter Corrinn; deceased son Craig and his surviving daughter Kirsten.

A visitation for Jacquelyn will be held Monday, July 6, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM, 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149.

Jacquelyn is one of the sweetest people you would love to meet. She was polite to everyone she meet and when you came to the house she made sure that you were fed. Two true sayings she would use were, "What you don't hear you'll feel" and "If you don't use it, you'll lose it." She is one of a kind and will be truly missed. Love always....

Everyone called her Mama Jackie. Why? Because she shared a Mother’s Love with anyone who came in her presence. One of my friends even called her Mother Love.

Mama Jackie was gracious, loving, compassionate, kind and thoughtful. She welcomed all to her table to share a meal and a smile. Her favorite Bible passage was Corinthians 13, the chapter about love. She exhibited love with her every breath. What a characteristic to pass on!!!

As she takes her rightful place in Heaven, I am blessed to have been a part of her life through my husband, Kurt. I miss you, Mama Jackie.

Your Daughter-in-Love,
Audrey P Wilcox

Mama Jackie - I can remember sitting in the kitchen on Seeley, eating choker sandwiches and having something to chase it with. Always remarkably optimistic and able to remind us to see the bright side of every situation. A pivotal influence in my early life, my family and I can’t express our gratitude in words. You’ll be loved and remembered fondly, Rest In Peace, you deserve eternal peace.

Love,
Michael Holmes and family

Meeting Miss Jackie was an honor. She knew what she wanted and didn't have a problem letting you know! In my time with her, I could tell she was a strong, determined woman. She would share memories of being a mom with me when we were together, and it was always a blessing to listen to her share. I'm thankful for the time I was given to know Miss Jackie. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.
