Leatha Joanne “Nana” Woods, March 13, 1940 – May 03, 2018. On May 3rd The gates of Heaven opened wide and the Angels in heaven began to sing the most beautiful sound that ears would ever hear. As her place in heaven was prepared, she was greeted with crowns and jewels and “job well done” as she took the hand of her mother and father, Ted and Verna Sloan. Her brother, Bob Sloan, was there as well to lead the way. Her husband Forrest “Frosty” Woods, dropped his fishing pole and ran to greet her as he wrapped her in his arms and spun her around and around with joy. Not a bone was aching, not a muscle was hurting, for she was completely whole again. She dropped to her knee’s and at last, her King appeared. She was at the feet of Jesus and for the first time in her existence, she understood what her purpose was for. She was finally home. She understood that time no longer existed which gave her peace that the ones she left behind would be with her momentarily. Her daughters, Kim Renee Stafford, Kelly Leanne Alcorn and Julie Kay Woods-Neville have big shoes to fill while still on Earth and she was satisfied that she prepared them accordingly. It was now their time to step up to the plate and continue the legacy she created. For her grandchildren: Trey Stafford and his wife Lindsay, Christopher Stafford and Nicole, Dakota Carter and Haley, Montana Carter and Jossie, Meagan and Macie Alcorn and Jaci Layne Harris are depending on their guidance to lead them the way. Her great grandchildren: Reagan Carter and Dylan Carter will never forget the love they received, and the newest grandson Chett Stafford will carry her soul within him until they met again. Her sons in law: Ronald Alcorn and Scott Neville will be providing the strength they will need to see that her legacy remained. They would all be ok because she had taught them love and that is the greatest gift of all.

Joanne touched anyone’s life that met her. She left a special memory for each one of us to cherish and that was her gift to you. She will be missed by so many people but her beautiful smile and her kind words of encouragement will never be forgotten.

The Love of aunt Jo was such a life changing experience for all those who knew her . I m blessed to have been her niece!!! I remember she always took us to the mall or garage sales and one time we all went to the Plano ballon feast it was so much fun . God blessed her with a wonderful family to be by her side to get her through the rough times and I see all the pictures of a true family that loved each other . may God give you the strength to get through the difficulty of losing your mom . She was A great sister, wife, mother ,and grandmother (nana) and aunt and to her friends a joy of sunshine. So in the future just remember she lived life to the fullest and it was a great honor to be there for all of you !!!!I miss her and love her always

Words can’t express the sadness, I feel for my dear , sweet friend, she was like a sister to me. I’ll always cherish our rafting trips, seeing Willie Nelson in concert and being Parrot Heads at Jimmy Buffett Concerts . Yes , we even argued over which of us was going to be Thelma or Louise. Lunch and thrift stores with Criss Kickirillo when we could lately. Joanne tell Frosty, my Mom and Dad hi, I know your a angel in heaven, flying high with them.

Words cannot express how greatful I am to have spent these last couple of years with you. Nothing will beat coming home late from work and kicking you back in the recliner and making sure you’re comfortable. I miss you so much that I can’t even take it! You once told me “you’ve never lived until you’ve taken 2 old people to the doctor”

I think you’ve never lived, until you hit your knees and The King’s feet. Enjoy heaven until the rest of us get there. And give Papa a big hug for me! I love you more than life, Nana! Stay with me in my heart forever.

There are not enough words to describe how I felt about aunt Jo. I loved her as my own aunt and she had that effect on everyone she met. She was so full of love, laughter and life. I will truly miss having her to call and vent to when I had martial issues, b/c she understood her nephew as her own and gave me the best loving advice. I will always hear and have stamped in my heart “ aunt jo loves you baby” and I hope she knew how much I loved her too.

Aunt JoJo, we have had a lot of great memories with both of our families. My heart is broken, that you are gone, I love the way you loved me and my family after my parents passed. Love sitting around listening to all our family memories, you have a way to tell a story! Can’t wait till I see you again. I love you so much...

Although we have not seen Joanne in awhile, I am heartbroken. I have many memories of her keeping my kids and they called her Nana. Joanne and Frosty treated all kids as if they were their own. I also have memories of laughing on a river trip with Maurine, Sandra and Joanne. We hit a huge wave and Joanne went under the raft seat and was stuck. We eventually pulled her out!!!! I know she was LOVED by many and will be missed 💔😢!!! The Duyka Family - Daniel, Pam, Jason and Niki
