Jose Santos Lopez

Jose Santos Lopez, age 63, passed away on January 3, 2022, at his home in Dallas, Texas. He was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on July 26, 1958, to Jose Meliton and Maria Felix Lopez but moved to Dallas in the 1980s to pursue the American Dream. He married Maria Carmen Lopez on January 13, 1979, and the couple had five children.

In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching an adult man’s baseball team for the Dallas Mexican American Baseball League (DMABL) for over 35+ years and played in a senior baseball league. One of his biggest passions was watching the Texas Rangers.

His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, and caring person who would always lend a hand without hesitation. Jose’s family will always cherish the memories they had with him, and they know that he is smiling down upon all of them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Guadalupe Meliton Lopez and Maria Felix Lopez.

Jose will be forever remembered by his wife, Maria Carmen Lopez; his children, Gloria H. Martinez and husband Rodolfo Martinez, Edwin Lopez and wife Norma Lopez, Vaudel Lopez and wife Jazmin Sanchez, Jema Lopez Lomas and husband Carlos Lomas, and Elizabeth Lopez; grandchildren, Edwin Lopez Jr., Marc Jacob Lopez, Kristopher Devin Lopez, Laiyah Isabelle Lopez, Jocelyn Ava Martinez, Aubrey Lopez, Kamila Faith Lopez, and Carlos Benjamin Lopez; seven sisters; two brothers; and a host of additional family and friends.
