Karen Jane Talent, age 66, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2019. Karen was born March 31, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to parents Joseph and Mildred Simoneaux. Karen worked hard throughout her life and earned several college degrees. She had an Associate of Applied Arts degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Dallas, a Bachelor's of Science degree in Management from University of Phoenix, and a Master's Degree in Education from Texas A&M University. Those that knew her joked that she was a professional student. Karen was once a costume designer for the show Walker Texas Ranger; she also worked as an insurance adjuster, a realtor and an educator with the Mesquite Independent School District. Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, relaxing in the country, and attending church services at Galloway Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until her passing.
Karen is survived by her two sons; Kelly and Kristopher Talent; grandchildren Chelsea Coulter, Dillon Talent, Kaci Talent, Stephani Lacy and Mason Talent, great grandchildren Tristan Talent, Logan Lacy, Rosie Coulter, Elizabeth Lacy; sisters Barbara Hubbard (Mike)and Marilynn Simoneaux, and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Galloway Avenue Baptist Church, 1930 N. Galloway Ave., Mesquite, TX 75149. A committal service will occur Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228
