I attended Mesquite High School with Karen. I have subbed for Karen and admired her devotion to her very special students at Tosch Elementary. She was always a delight to smile and gave a big hug every time our paths crossed. I last subbed at Tosch on May 24th/2019. I recall seeing Karen walking hand in hand with on of her precious students. I watched as she made her way to the back of the building...her hair was about waist level and the wind was blowing it around with gusto. I watched her until she disappeared around the corner of the building. I guess you could say she was stepping into eternity. I couldn’t have been more shocked to hear that she had entered heaven’s gates a short time after ....and I will continue to miss her in the days , weeks, and seasons ahead. Love and respect her so much!!!!

Ms. Talent was definitely a genuinely kind woman whom I enjoyed working with at Tosch Elementary. Ms. Talent truly cared about her students and taught from her heart. She made a positive difference in so many lives. May her family be comforted with God's peace that surpasses all understanding. Please accept my deepest condolences.🌻

I worked with Karen at Tosch Elementary. She was always caring and smiling. I always stopped by her room on my conference or lunch because she was infectiously joyful and her classroom was always welcome and warming. This was just her. I am saddened we have lost her. God Bless the family and many friends. RIP.

When my family moved to Mesquite from New Orleans, Karen and Joe and Bro. Bill met us at our house at midnight and helped us unload 2 UHauls. We had to work all night to get the trucks back to the station by 8AM. Karen never sat down! She didn't even know us, but she knew we were friends of Bill and Barbara's , and we were going to be helping the church. She was one of the finest people I ever knew! We laughed together, played games, sewed together, and praised the Lord together. We loved her, she will be missed.
