Kathryn Elaine Winkelman Paris was born in Waco, Texas on April 20, 1944. Her father was a farmer in Lorena, Texas and her mother kept the house and helped raise Kate and her two brothers, Edward and David. Kate graduated from Lorena High School and Durham's Business College and began her career in Accounting at the American Income Building in downtown Waco.
Kate met Airman Joseph Franklin Paris and the Lorena girl was married at St. John's United Church of Christ in Robinson, Texas on June 12, 1964. She soon became a loving mother to her only child Jeffrey Franklin Paris. Kate is a farm girl, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and mother. Her family is the most important part of her life. She continued to work in Accounting at Lone Star Gas Company, TXU Gas Company, and Oncor Electric until her retirement. The home and family came first to Kate because she was raised in a family with a loving mother and father.
Kate loves to spend time in her garden watering her flowers and daily providing seeds and peanuts for the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and ducks who play in her garden. Her favorite flowers are purple and yellow irises, red poppies, purple larkspurs, marigolds, purple coneflowers, autumn joy sedum, and sweet autumn clematis.
Kate is regarded as a very sweet and pleasant lady by all who know her and she will be missed very much.
V: Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
R: And let perpetual light shine upon her.
And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
