Kenneth B. Abernathy

Kenneth Abernathy, age 69, of Forney, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. He was born January 10, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Ray and Elvira Abernathy. Kenneth went to Mesquite High School and graduated from Texas Tech University. He married Linda Lacy and had one son. Kenneth worked for the United States Postal Service as a postal carrier for 25 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and coaching Upward football and basketball. He was a founding member of Cancer Care Ministries and was a member of First Baptist Church Forney for 15 years.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Elvira Abernathy; sisters, Sue Culpepper and Delores Blackmore and nephew, Michael Abernathy. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Abernathy; son, John Abernathy and wife, Briana; grandchildren, Addison and Jack Abernathy and brothers, Wayne and Don Abernathy.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at First Baptist Church Forney, 1003 College Ave, Forney, TX 75126, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM. A private committal service will be held at Schlobohm Cemetery.
