Larry Curtis McDougal

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Vertical Life Church in Mesquite. Larry Curtis McDougal was born on January 4, 1953, in Dallas, Texas to Leon and Betty McDougal. He married Judy Wilson McDougal on November 20, 1972 at Urban Park Assembly of God Church in Dallas. The couple moved to Garland in 1987 where they lived for the next 36 years. Larry believed in God and in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Although our hearts are heavy, we know he is in a better place with the Lord, reunited with his wife Judy. Larry worked as a machinist in the Dallas area for most of his life, taking pride in his craftsmanship and attention to detail. Everyone he met, even on the job, became an instant friend with Larry. Larry loved going to church, dogs, spending time with family, tinkering with machines, and entertaining others whenever he could. He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his son Jonathan Brian McDougal and wife Julie Edmonds McDougal of Terrell; daughter Melissa Ann Mathew and her husband Michael Donovan Mathew of Garland; six beloved grandchildren: Cori Paige McDougal, Stephen Thomas Mathew, Isaac Donovan Mathew, Bryce Alexander McDougal, Alexis Nicole Mathew, and Olivia Rose Mathew; and brother Donald McDougal. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Judy and his parents Leon and Betty.
