

While it is possible to receive good counsel from a wide circle of family and friends, few could do it with the skill and aptitude of Elizabeth Ann Hammonds. She had a true talent for helping others reach their full potential and brought out the best in those who sought her help. Liz was a forward-looking woman whose personality was filled with empathy toward everyone she met. She could be quiet and reserved, but her style of communication was authentic and direct. An excellent communicator, Liz was a master at using imagery when she explained her ideas and concepts. She seemed to have an endless supply of innovative concepts and strategies for how to help those around her. Her sensitivity, kindness and generous attitude made her a wonderful friend for all who knew her.
From the time she was born on August 12, 1951, Liz showed a deep concern for others. She was a giving and caring individual, ethical and full of integrity and warmth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jeraldine Fagala. Elizabeth was raised in Mesquite.
Because fellowship was so important to her, Liz promoted harmony with her siblings. She was raised with three. She had two younger sisters, Linda and Eydie, and one younger brother, Richard. Elizabeth was something of the family diplomat. She helped to settle problems and conflicts and kept the family running smoothly.
Liz was romantic, even poetic at times. She was completely devoted to family and friends, able to show her emotions without going overboard about it. On April 30, 2010 Liz exchanged wedding vows with Randy Wayne Hammonds at Michael & Alyssia's home in Garland, Tx.
All who knew her would agree that there was a certain kind of magic in how Liz was able to bond with her children. While she could be a firm disciplinarian, she could also fill the role of being a collaborator with her kids. Liz was always a mentor who helped her family reach its full potential. Liz was blessed with two sons, Michael & Jason, one step-daughter, Nicole, and one step-son, Ryan. She and Randy were also blessed with seven grandchildren, Tyler, Sharay, Dylan, Tateyanna, Judah, Landon and Josie.
Liz projected a positive influence in her workplace. Liz could be a perfectionist and worked hard at all times to reach her highest potential. As a result of her efforts, her most satisfying award included car salesperson of the month, for several months at Auto City. She possessed excellent insight and a strong ability to meet schedules. She was an innovator who worked well independently, and she enjoyed the task of meeting a constant array of challenges. Her primary occupation was in car sales. Her aunt Shirley says, "she could sell ice to Eskimos."
As an imaginative and inventive person, Liz was comfortable showing her creative spirit. She enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Once Liz took on a new project, she saw it through to its completion. Her favorite pursuits were gardening, traveling, fishing, and reading her bible. She was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Liz was a well-respected woman who was charitable in every way. She would contribute without hesitation for the benefit of others. She loved so deeply with every fiber of her being and it was apparent in everything she did, especially in her smile. Despite her personal struggles, she always managed to keep a smile on her face. Liz was one who put forth her best effort in every aspect of her life. Her sense of diligence inspired others.
Liz possessed strong skills in long-range planning and project completion, a quality that positively influenced her travel and vacation planning. Favorite vacations included Hawaii, Florida, Californian, Jamaica, and South Carolina.Liz was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she got the opportunity. Tops on her list were football, baseball and Nascar.
Liz passed away on December 9, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Liz was the victim of a traumatic automobile accident. She is survived by her sons, Michael Trimble and wife Alyssia, Jason Trimble and wife Kemi, her step daughter Nicole Brehm and Husband Kyle, her step son Ryan Hammonds and wife Molly; her grandchildren Tyler, Sharay, Judah, Dylan, Tateyanna, Landon and Josie; her brother Richard Fagala and wife Connie, her sisters Linda Grinnel and husband Steve, Eydie Hubbard and husband Bob. Services were held at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite Texas. Liz was laid to rest in Pyle Prarie Cemetary in Kemp, Texas.
Though she could be a private person at times, Liz was always able and willing to give of herself. She was so in tune with others that she often seemed able to read their minds. Liz carried with her an almost mystical sense of life. She was a person who was highly original in her thinking and used metaphors and symbols to describe many aspects of her life. A poetic, intuitive “teacher”, Elizabeth Ann Hammonds shared herself freely and family and friends will remember Liz for the strength of her convictions.
