Madge was born on March 17, 1933, in Dirks, Arkansas, to parents: James Sterling Fulcher and Lillie L. McKamy Fulcher. Madge graduated from Splendora High School in 1951, later obtaining a degree in Food Nutrition from North Texas State University. She married her Husband, Reg, in 1951, and after staying in Dallas and Rylie a short time, then Mesquite for 35 years, they ultimately settled in Sunnyvale in 1992. She was employed by the Mesquite Independent School District for 30 years, retiring as a Food Service Supervisor in 1997. She was involved in many special events, including initiating the Senior Breakfast which celebrated Seniors in the Spring of their graduating year. She is a devout Christian and attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Mesquite. She loved spending time with her family and decorating their home for every holiday season. Her favorite was Christmas, where she’d decorate each room in the house in preparation for the whole family to spend Christmas Day together, which included the reading of the Christmas Story performed by the grandkids.
Madge was preceded in death by her Parents; Brothers: Sterling, Spurgle, Freeman, Forrest, and Waylan Fulcher; Sisters: Irene Jett and Gladys Loge. She is survived by her Husband of 70 years: Reginald Jones, Sons: Danny Jones and Wife JoNita of Mesquite, Jerry Jones and Wife Shelley of Mesquite; and Daughter Sharon Egan and Husband Mark of Sunnyvale; Grandchildren, who call her Mammom: Duane Jones and Wife Amy, Brad Jones and Wife Staci, Chad Meek and Wife Beth, Erica Hancock and Husband Daniel, Lee Meek, Lauren Ray and Husband Terry, Shelley Houx and Husband Wes, Jessica Stewart and Husband Kyle, and Joe Jones; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, August 1st at the Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, August 2nd at the funeral home, with burial services following at Laurel Oaks Cemetery in Mesquite.
