She attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, and was a Catechist teacher at Saint Phillips the Apostle Catholic Church.
She loved spending time with the family pets, her three dogs Sassy, Charlie, and Molly. She enjoyed flowers and the outdoors, loved travelling, and playing bingo with family and friends. She always enjoyed life to the fullest.
Her son, Mikey Sanchez's favorite memory of his mother :
"My mother had so much love for animals. At one point in our lives, we purchased a duck and a chicken. My mother would sit in the backyard and the duck and chicken would come to her. We would laugh because the duck would be on her lap and the chicken would sit on her shoulder and my mom with a smile on her face."
Her son, Erick Sanchez's favorite memory of his mother:
"She always liked eating ice for everything and liked to laugh when we would mess with my dad."

"My favorite memory of mom is when she would hug and kiss me."
Martina is preceded in death by her mother Maria Josepha Gonzalez; her brothers Jose Luis Ortiz and Victor Ortiz; and her sister Mary Hernandez Ortiz.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years Juan Manuel Sanchez; and her sons Adam Alexander Sanchez, John Michael Sanchez, and Erick James Sanchez.
