Melody Denise Tran, 63, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born June 6, 1963, in Clear Lake, South Dakota, Melody Denise McBride was the daughter of Zada and Francis McBride. She spent her childhood on milk farms alongside her three brothers and three sisters, in a home shaped by the steady devotion of parents raising seven children. Though there were seasons when life was difficult, the love they shared gave them strength to persevere and, in doing so, deepened the bond they carried forward. She graduated from high school in South Dakota in 1982.
As an adult, Melody did not always live near her siblings, yet family remained close in the ways that mattered—through frequent calls and the sharing of everyday life. She worked a variety of odd jobs while raising her two children, whom she loved very much, meeting responsibilities with quiet resolve and enduring care.
Melody found comfort and enjoyment in simple, meaningful pleasures: reading, watching movies, and spending time with her friends—moments of companionship and calm that reflected the value she placed on connection.
Melody is survived by her children, Tammy and Danh Tran; Her siblings Debbie Gulden, Michelle Vo, Sandy Gamber and Mark McBride.
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long."
-Psalm 23
A memorial service will be held at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149, on October 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
