Norma Louise Thompson

Norma Thompson, age 93, passed away on March 7, 2018 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on September 18, 1924 in Big Sandy, Texas to Oscar and Julia Langford. Norma was raised in Big Sandy, Texas.

She married Paul Thompson in 1940 and the couple had two children. She was a Human Resources Assistant at Neiman Marcus where she worked for more than 25 years.

In her spare time Norma enjoyed sewing, working in church, cooking for her family, and spoiling her beloved dog Scruffy.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a woman of strong faith that deeply loved her family and her Savior Jesus Christ. She was the best chicken and dumplins maker there ever was.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Paul A. Thompson; her sons James Larry Thompson; her three sisters; and her three brothers.

Norma is survived by her daughter Patricia Saddler and husband George; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Norma was my Aunt that really impressed me with her faith. She set a good example for all of on how to live a Christian life. She will be missed but we will see her again.

Lots of memories of Norma and her family, but my most precious memory is her prayers in church. Her prayers were definitely heard in heaven. A real saint that is our loss and heavens gain. Love and prayers to the family.
