

Olivia A. Ruiz, 94, of Dallas TX, departed this world on September 26, 2025. Olivia is preceded in death by husband Roberto Ruiz, and is survived by daughter, Rebecca Saenz, and son Roberto Ruiz Jr., three grandchildren David Saenz, Melissa Salais, and Olivia L. Ruiz and two great grandchildren, Sophia and Ethan Salais and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a trailblazer, the youngest of five siblings and the first to pursue a professional career in nursing for 29 years. She married Roberto Ruiz on May 28,1955 which lasted for 54 years. During their marriage, they moved to California for a long period of time. In 1998, they moved back to reside in Mesquite, Texas. There she became an active parishioner of St. Pius Catholic Church and devoting her time and energy to the St. Pius Ladies Society. She was recognized for her dedication to Catholic womanhood on April 30, 2023. She loved to travel and being actively involved in the lives and activities of her family, instilling the importance and value of education. Her greatest joy was feeding the people she loved. She fed us not only with food, but knowledge and life lessons that we will carry on in our hearts. Olivia will always be remembered for her guidance, giving spirit, and encouragement to those in her life. She lived her life to the fullest and her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
A visitation & rosary for Olivia will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A committal service will occur Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Road, Rowlett, Texas 75088.
