

Dr. Rick Davis, Ph.D., a respected clinical psychologist, devoted husband and father, mentor, and beloved family member, departed this life on July 19, 2025, at the age of seventy. He was born on May 3, 1955, in Hinds County, Mississippi, to the late Douglas Davis and Mildred Louis Davis.
Raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Davis attended Provine High School, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He continued his education at Jackson State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree while proudly playing football for the JSU Tigers. He went on to earn a Master of Science degree from Pittsburg State University and later received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Forensic Psychology from the University of Alabama.
With over 45 years of dedicated service in the mental health field, Dr. Davis worked tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals and communities. His contributions in both clinical and forensic psychology left a lasting impact on countless lives. He was deeply admired for his knowledge, his calming presence, and his unwavering dedication to helping others with compassion and integrity.
Dr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Mildred Davis, and his sister, Cherilyn Lewis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian Davis; his children, Christopher Davis and Victoria Davis; his siblings, Dernoral Davis and Jackline Lester; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and professional colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.
Dr. Rick Davis will be remembered as a man of principle, purpose, and heart. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his work, his family, and his steadfast dedication to the well-being of others. He will be deeply missed.
The family will honor Dr. Davis with a private memorial service.
