Robert told us many many times that his dream job was to be the greeter at Walmart, not the neighborhood store, the Superstore.  

PLEASE ACCEPT MY CONDOLENCES ON THE LOSS OF YOUR FATHER. ALTHOUGH I REMEMBERED HIM WHEN HE WAS YOUNG,WE KEPT IN CONTACT THRU CHRISMAS CARDS AND A FEW TELEPHONE CONCERSATIONS,YET WE NEVER MET IN PERSON.HE SEEMED LIKE A TRULY,HONORABLE MAN,FATHER,SON,COUSIN,AND SERVING HIS COUNTRY.

Dad there is so much I can say about you, so many story’s I can tell, like you say”this sucks” these stories you told me will be in my memories. You told me the day you pass” Alicia don’t cry you’ll always be my lil girl” “ I’m going to see mom tonight” . Words can not explain how this feels. This is the worst feeling in the world. I was with him everyday all day. He would say make sure you call me when you get home and he would get upset when 8:30 came around and didn’t call I would say dad I was in the shower. He would say “that sucks” . I’m going to miss him more then anything in this world. A daughters love for her father is special not like any other. Are dates or dinners, family dessert night, and just watching T.V. I’m going to miss you here in the physical world but know you are no longer in any pain and your able to be happy again. It’s not the ones who pass that suffer it’s the ones who are left behind. God choose you at this time for a reason, just watch over me and my family and keep guiding us through out or lives. My grandpa to me was someone very special.  My awkward humor and The type where you could tell him anything, and he wouldn’t judge. He’d sit there with a smile glad that you even told him. One time when we had meat cooking on the grill he’d ask me if it was all the rabbits in our yard I said ew grandpa no! Ever since He’d go outside and sneak grapes or anything to give to the bunny like it was his little pet when he came over. It was really the cutest thing.  Or if we went to a store he’d tell me grab snacks for the rabbit. Everyday he had something to say about it, should we take our leftovers to the rabbit, does it have water etc. I loved how we had the same music taste I’d play paramore and you just tapped your feet and sang. Or when we’d listen to The Beach Boys together and the beetles, John Lennon. I always knew when he’d want to tell me something as a secret he’d say “goat” and that’s how I knew it was time to play tricks on my family. We’d play cards watch old tv shows and eat apple pie in the middle of the night. We’d go to Starbucks and he of course always got a iced vanilla cafe latte and I’d always change my orders, y’all shoulda saw his face when he found out Starbucks didn’t just sell coffee I got a dragon fruit refresher. I’ll forever adore and miss your hugs and stories and warm laugh and dances in the living room especially deserts always on Monday. I have so many more stories to tell but I’d probably be sitting here for a decade trying to type them all. I love you forever and always ~Isabella

Robert was my best friend since age 12. We went to school together and walked to school together, that's how we met at age 12. 
We always kept in touch throughout the years. As kids, Robert would help me throw my paper route in Dallas. Robert took guitar lessons around 14 years old and would come home a teach me what he learned. He would help me with everything, and I would do the same. 
Every day, growing up, we were always together, and working together with his stepfather. We rode bikes and go-carts, stayed up all night playing guitars and just having fun. 
Robert is the most kindness and greatest friend I could ever have. Always thoughtful and caring. He loved his wife Judy, and family. I will always thank God for such a great friend, who I can never forget, or replace. 
I have so many memories throughout of lives. Even up until two weeks ago he and I were calling each other. 
I think of you every day. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Grandpa was a veryyyyy intelligent man and I always admired him for that growing up. I will always remember the trips me, him, and grandma took and think of the good times. He loved to tell jokes and stories. His storytelling made you feel like you were there & the things he experienced in the military were so cool. I always wished he wrote a book filled with his stories so we could all read it whenever we wanted. I'm glad I got to spend time with you and talk to you on your last day and us all be there as a family. I know you are happy to be reunited with Grandma again. Give her a hug and kiss for us all.

He always had a great story about his assignments when he went on TDY.  Later in life we found out even cooler ones . One that I know I'll  always remember is him telling us about him being lost in the jungles of Brazil for like a month!  He was always a great story teller.
