Ronald Gene Chandler (Ron) was born to Vernon and Geneva Chandler on November 19, 1937 in Lawton, OK and left this earth on October 26, 2021 at the age of 83 years 11 months and 7 days. During his childhood, he lived with his family in Lawton, OK and for a short time San Antonio, Texas. He attended Lawton High School and Lawton Barber School and then joined the Navy to serve his country. After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Lawton to work with his Dad at Chandler’s Barber Shop and followed his footsteps. After relocating to Dallas, Texas, he met his love Joni Wadle Bowen whom he married on December 21, 1990. They settled in Mesquite, Texas. In 1995, he opened Chandler’s Barber Shop in Forney. He sold the barbershop in March of 2018 to his trusted friend and co-worker, Dan McCarroll and retired. In July 2018, he became extremely ill and was no longer able to live in his home alone. He spent several months in a nursing home and eventually moved to Augusta, Kansas to live with his daughter, Alicia. He eventually was able to be independent enough to live alone again so he relocated to just north of Lawton in the Wichita Mountains. He loved to watch his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, OU Sooner football and just about any other sport.
