Sharon Kay Thompson

Sharon Kay Thompson, age 65, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 in Bedford, Texas. She was born on June 14, 1958 in Dallas, Texas to Vernon and Mary Flowers. Sharon was raised in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from Mesquite High School and served in the Air Force. She married Paul Thompson in 1980 and the couple had two children and she worked as a payroll professional at Dallas ISD for more than 25 years.

In her spare time Sharon enjoyed spending time with her brother, Rich Flowers, her grandchildren, Emma and Oliver Thompson and the many friends she made over the years at work and at church. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and kind person who would give anything for her family. She worked many long hours to make a better life for her sons.

Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Short; mother, Mary Flowers; father, Vernon Flowers and daughter-in-law, Melissa Thompson. Left here to cherish her memory is her brother, Rich Flowers; sons, Kevin Thompson and George Thompson; daughter-in-law, Amber Thompson; granddaughter, Emma Thompson; grandson, Oliver Thompson and Melissa's family, who loved her and treated her as one of their own.

Sharon was a loving mother and grandmother whose time and effort will have a lasting impact.

A memorial service for Sharon will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
