Terry was born on June 12, 1961, in Heidelberg, Germany, while her father was stationed there with the United States Army. The oldest of three sisters, Terry shared a lifelong bond with her younger sisters, Tanya and Tavane.
Terry began her professional life as a certified dental assistant and later continued her education, completing a bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University. She went on to build a career in medical billing, working as both a billing specialist and supervisor for various companies. Her career reflected the responsibility, determination, and strong work ethic she brought to so many areas of her life.
Terry had a special place in her heart for animals. She loved them all, but she was particularly devoted to rescuing dogs—a passion she shared with her husband, Gus. Together, they gave love, care, and a home to animals in need.
Terry was a member of DFW Church of Christ, and her faith was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Gus A. Jones; her son, Charles Thomas Bean; her father, Thomas Trumbla, LTC USA Retired; her sisters, Tanya Trumbla Brewer and Tavane Trumbla Ragan; three nephews; and one niece.
For more than seven years, Terry lived with Alzheimer’s disease, and throughout that long journey, Gus remained steadfastly by her side. His devotion to Terry was an extraordinary expression of love and faithfulness and a living picture of the promise to remain together “in sickness and in health.” Through the most difficult years, she was cared for by the man who loved her and faithfully walked beside her.
Terry will be remembered not for the disease that marked the final years of her life, but for the full life that came before it—for her love of family, her compassion for animals, her faith, her accomplishments, and the many lives she touched along the way.
Visitation will be August 26, 2026 from 4-6, followed by a Celebration of Life at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Parkway Mesquite, TX 75150. Graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Terry’s memory to DFW Church of Christ or the Alzheimer’s Association.
