Born October 19th, 1922 in Mesquite, TX passed away on July 30th, 2015. She lived 92 full years with most of her life in Mesquite TX. She was a faithful Christian and member of the First Baptist Church of Mesquite. The daughter of Waco and Pearl Crane of Mesquite. Virginia was proceeded in death by: husband Earl Little (1977), son Gary Little (1985), son Kenneth Little (2012), sisters Maddie Paris and Martha Crane, and brothers Dick, Leon, Halbert, and Vernon Crane. She is survived by three loving grandchildren: James Little of Marietta, GA; Alyssa Little of Kingwood, TX; Bradley Little, wife Kate, and two great granddaughters Caroline and Claire of The Woodlands, TX; and two sisters Joann Jones and Zelma McNee.
A Banker by trade, Virginia retired in 1989. In her life, Virginia enjoyed basketball. She was a terrific player, and was quite competitive. She played regularly for sponsored teams in Dallas in her young adulthood, including teams for Dr. Pepper and Nu-Grape. She even participated in donkey basketball games. In fact, she enjoyed it so much, that she quit her job to play in a tournament in Mexico City.
She loved to watch all kinds of sports and was particularly fond of all the Dallas Professional Teams. She knew all the players’ jersey numbers, and even tallied the individual teammate’s statistics for every game. She also volunteered weekly at the Sharing Life Community Outreach in Mesquite for many years until a year ago when she finally had to give up driving.
Virginia loved gardening and had a flourishing garden with many beautiful flowers in the back yard of her mesquite home. She was always giving away extra plants to friends and family. She had a very full life and will be missed by friends and family alike.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM, Monday, August 3, 2015 at 1st Baptist Church in Mesquite, 127 E. Kimbrough St, Mesquite, Tx.
