William Ivan Lough Jr.

William Ivan Lough Jr., aka "Bill" and "Buick Bill" age 85, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Bill was born on January 5, 1940 in Ft. Worth, Texas to William Ivan Lough and Lizzie Viola Clary Lough. He is predeceased by his wife Thelma, his father Ivan Lough, his mother Lizzie Lough, his brother and sister-in-law Bobbie & Linda Lough and sister Ruby Day. He is survived by his brother Kenneth, sister Geri, step daughter Karla Smith, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

Bill served in the Air Force and was based within the United States during his stint. He earned a license in automobile mechanics. His hobbies were Buicks and guns. He owned a gun shop in Mesquite after he retired from Otis Engineering. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Thelma, to Buick shows throughout the United States.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful care teams at Edgewood Nursing & Rehabilitation and Alinea Family Hospice & Care for their exceptional care given to Bill during his stay with them.

A visitation for Bill will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, TX 75149. A committal will occur Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX 75228.
