Alton Mitchell Guillot

Alton M. Guillot passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 with his loving family at his side. He was 83. Devoted husband of Rowena Thibodeaux Guillot for 63 years. Beloved father of Susan Gagliano (Frank), Alton M. “Mitch” Guillot II (Laura) and the late Patricia “Trisha” Guillot. Proud grandfather of Rowena Triche, Rebecca Montgomery (Justin), Lucy Guillot and Alton “Trey” Guillot III. Great grandfather of Michaela, Lexi and Maddi Triche; Mason Nugent and Gabriella and Dominick Gagliano. Son of the late Doramus Guillot and Rena Dauzat Guillot. Brother of the late Eloise Guillot Chatelain (Elric).

Mr. Guillot was born in Marksville, LA and lived in Metairie, LA. He served in the Army during WWII, was a former school bus driver for Jefferson Parish and was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church. He also served as a director of Delta Homestead and was a member of the Lions Club.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to Angel’s Place, a facility devoted to the care of seriously and terminally ill children.
