

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew “Andy” G. D’Antoni, III, a beloved father, brother, and friend. Andrew departed from this world on March 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the value of craftsmanship.
Andrew was born on August 23, 1953, in New Orleans, LA the cherished son of the late Andrew G. D’Antoni, II and the late Shirley Crouchet D’Antoni. Andy is survived by his beloved, Sharon Polizzi; children, John A. D’Antoni, Jill A. D’Antoni, Kent W. Polizzi II, and Amanda Polizzi Dunn; grandchildren, Lily Dupont, Layla Polizzi, Kellan Dunn and Mia Dunn; his brother and sisters, Terry A. D’Antoni, Pamela T. D’Antoni Seymour (Stanley, deceased), and Lisa J. D’Antoni Smith (Boyd) and nieces, nephews, and great niece.
From an early age, he exhibited a remarkable zest for life and a genuine interest in building and serving others. Andy's journey was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to his passions. He pursued his education with diligence, earning a degree in Drafting and Design from Delgado.
In his professional life, Andrew was a beacon of inspiration and innovation in the field of Drafting and Design. He made significant contributions to Atlas Sheet Metal Company and later on, became a highly sought after self-employed contractor earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike. He proudly served as a member of the New Orleans Local Sheet Metal Union #214. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence was unparalleled and was on full display on all of his incalculable accomplishments in his field.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Andrew's true joy stemmed from his role as a devoted pawpaw. He shared a profound bond with the love of his life, Sharon whom he cherished. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories for their grandbabies.
Andy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light that he built in the world.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans.
