Anthony Charles Ancona, Sr., age 85, passed on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA. Beloved husband of the late Elaine Foster Ancona. Father of Sheila A. Bratcher, Deborah A. Neagle, Toni A. Coogan, Steven C. Ancona and Chuck Ancona. Grandfather of Brad, Tanya, Holly, Erin, Christen, Rebecca, Joshua and Phillip. Brother of Lynn A. Schilling, Catherine A. Arthur and the late Joseph N. Ancona, Mary A. Herkender and Rose A. Faust. Son of the late Nicholas J. Ancona and Josephine Cordilla Ancona. Also survived by a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mr. Ancona was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, was former president of the New Orleans Catholic Chess Club and was very active in the Catholic Community. He was an extremely talented artist and used his gift to become a highly respected sign artist. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church, 2552 Kentucky Avenue, Kenner, LA on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Sunday evening, October 17, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
