Antoine Henry Williams III “Andy” entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 13th, 2018 at the age of 68. Andy was born on April 9, 1950 in Fort Hood, TX. Beloved husband of 44 years to Maria Maffei Williams. Father of Karl Williams (Michele), Paul Williams (Angela), Emily Shinn (Wesley), and Andy Williams. Papa of Jacey, Logan, Landon, Victoria, Juliana, Ellie, and Paul Michael Jr.
Son of the late Antoine Henry Williams Jr. and the late Aline Williams Mitchell, step son of the late Stephen Mitchell. Brother of the late Denise Seither (Richard), Cherie Partlan, and Terry Williams (Eileen). Step brother of Carol Ann Falgout and late Steve Mitchell.
Andy was a 1968 graduate of Jesuit High School where he was affectionately known as “Whale”. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Loyola University. Andy was a member of the NORD – Masion Blanche Babe Ruth World Series Championship team in 1965. He was a 9th round draft pick in the 1968 Major League Baseball Draft taken by the Houston Astros. He was a longtime member of the Saint Ann Men’s Club and Girard Playground Booster Club. Andy loved playing golf, spending time with his grandchildren and hanging out with his friends at the local coffee shop.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at St. Ann National Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie, LA on Friday September 21, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the Memorial Mass at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA.
