Antonio “Tony” J. Perez, 65, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after passing in the arms of his devoted wife, on Tuesday October 31, 2023. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he was a loving husband, son, father, pawpaw, and sibling. After moving to the United States when he was eight years old, he lived most of his life in South Louisiana. However, with over 35 years in industrial construction, maintenance inspection and supervision, and facilities management, his fields of employment also had him and his family venturing to North Dakota and Arizona. In the Summer of 1989, his career travels ended, and he and his family settled in Madisonville, Louisiana where he lived the rest of his earthly life. Tony is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 48 years Kathline Coll Perez; his adoring daughter, Jessica Perez Laubhan and husband Mike; two cherished grandchildren, Chris and Kayley; faithful parents, Jesus “Gino” Perez, Sr. and Joann Lastrapes Perez; and a loved mother-in-law (whom was a second mother to him), Marion Newhouse Coll. He is also survived by five siblings and three sisters-in law, Jesus “Gino” Perez, Jr. and wife Sibylla; Carmen Perez; Yvette Perez Thibodeaux; Andre Perez and wife Josette; and Bart Perez and wife Jodi; and two brothers-in-law, George Coll, Jr. and wife Adele; and Arthur Coll, Sr.; along with eighteen nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, father-in-law, George Coll, Sr., and brother-in law, Chris Coll, Sr. Tony appreciated the simple things in life, visiting with family and friends, fishing, enjoying and working outdoors, and traveling. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan and was the epitome of the perfect host. Those left to cherish his memory are asked by his family to remember his compassion and consideration for others. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Timothy on the North Shore at 335 Asbury Dr. Mandeville, LA. on Friday, November 24,2023. Visitation will begin at 10am with a service at 11am. The family would like to express its deep thanks to all who have shown an outpouring of love through prayers, calls, and texts. Please continue to hold us in prayer. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He will forever be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Always in our hearts until we meet again.
