Audrey Anderson Schmaltz

Audrey (Audi) Mae Anderson Schmaltz, age 91, passed from earthly life Friday, August 18, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Elvin C. Schmaltz; her parents Margaret Flynn Anderson and Alfred A. Anderson; sisters Elaine A. Mericq and Beverly A. Hendricks; brothers Alfred J., Cedric F., and George J. Anderson. Audrey is survived by three nieces Cyndi Hendricks, Claire Loup and Carla Feld (Ira); grandnephews Chuck Shorter (Kendra), Jim Shorter (Amy), Adam Loup (Lindsey); grandnieces Lindsay L. Blue (BJ) and Gabrielle Feld, great-great aunt to Maddie, Lexie, Cammie, Ellie, and Garrett Shorter and baby Anderson Blue. Audi is also survived by her sister in law Shirley Mae Anderson, a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends. The family would like to thank Audi’s neighbors Helen Romano Munsch and Elizabeth Piazza for their years of friendship, love and support, especially during her declining years. Also special thanks to Debra Chapman, RN and Sharon Williams, CNA of Notre Dame Hospice. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery #3, 143 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the St. Jude Society of St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, Louisiana 70003.
