OBITUARY

Barbara Ann James Pinel

December 13, 1936December 21, 2012

On December 13, 1936 Barbara Ann James Pinel was born to William Henry James and Lucille Camilla Longshore James, both from New Orleans. She departed this life on December 21, 2012 at 9:45 pm at Waldon Nursing Home. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Mervin Leo Pinel. She is survived by her three children, Karen Ann Pinel, Keith Michael Pinel and Kevin Joseph Pinel. Barbara was a native of New Orleans growing up in Mid-City. She was a graduate of McDonough 35, a member of St. Anthony’s Padawa 20’s Social Club, a member of the University Park Lions Club, and a former member of the Delta Ladies Auxillary. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Divine Providence Church in Metairie Louisiana. Those who knew her will remember the essence she had for life, and the giving spirit she gave to anyone who asked for help. When told her handicap son, Kevin, wouldn’t make it past 2 years old, she told all the doctors they were wrong and that she would raise him to be a man. Kevin is now 46. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Thursday December 27, 2012 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 8:00 am until time of service. Interment in St. Patrick No. 1 cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
